An update

I received a take down notice yesterday from KenTunes, LLC an organization representing Maroon Commandos and Habel Kifoto.

As a result of this notice, all tracks recorded by Habel Kifoto and by the group named Maroon Commandos have now been removed from the blog.

    Lipua Lipua – Ndukidi

    @Jay

    Still having issues with my internet uploading

    @Esororo

    In reference to #89 what a better and explicit way to split the atom!!

    @Kevin. By the way. Please try and make a living legitimately. Trying to curve a niche in what is considered a legacy history in our collective roots is a low and unscrupulous way. Some of these songs were funded by taxing my poor old grandmother in the village who never received a single pay from the government that helped to create it. Esororo gave an example of Maroon Commandos. The rest is self-explanatory.

    @Robert. Thanks.

    @ALL. Can anyone help with #61? Or for Kevin this is a better challenge for you. Please provide me with Kariobangi!!! or the other song mentioned. Are you even old enough to know that I am talking about?

    @Esororo & other clan members,

    Anyone with nyotesa darling by Lessa Lassan?

  5. Steve says:

    @Mutunga, @Esororo, @Kabuga:

    You can find another version of Sikitiko (from the album Tanzania Vuma) here. I think that this one is from Mbaraka but I could be wrong. There is absolutely no info on the Tanzania Vuma CD series on the Internet and I do not have the liner notes for the release.

    @ All referencing posts 108 and 109.

    There is also a Mopaya Zoba by Shama Shama.

  10. Esororo says:

    @ Steve,

    Thank you for Sikitiko. Yes, it is Marijani Rajab and Dar International.

  11. kabuga says:

    @Steve,

    Thanks for the Marijan song though it is not sikitiko. Sikitiko addresses the apartheid situation in SA then.

  12. kabuga says:

    @Esororo, Steve & others,

    The latest Marijan song goes a long way into showing just how far we are in exausting this great of TZ rumba music’s repertoire.

    The forum has done exceptionally well in covering lipua lipua and i would suggest we do the same with Marijan.

    This particular song reminds me of the days when i had to squeeze some music from a small failing transistor sanyo radio with some Gor mahia AFC derby games. Those were the DAYS!

    And you et an account on Twitter?

    @seororo,
    sammy kasule and ken sound like very bitter men. but let them take it slow. the reason we all contribute on the blogs one way or the other is because we enjoy/enjoyed the music him and his likes offered and we’re simply rrying to roll back teh days together and enjoy the experience. but its’ok if he does not want us to appreciate his work-we’ll start digging out our old tapes and pluck the music out by ourselves.
